   Entertainment: Grocery Store Wars
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 @ 02:29AM
As I have said before some people have way to much time and money on their hands. May the farm be with you.

While it may have been created by hippie Star Wars geeks, genetically modified food > organic food.

   Entertainment: Yet another Tuesday
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 @ 01:25AM
This week we have up Kinsey, Son of the Mask, White Noise and Team America: World Police; and yes I do realize the Tuesday was yesterday.

Son of the Mask is about a child that is conceived while the father is wearing ‘The Mask’. The movie may try to say is it related to the movie ‘The Mask’ with Jim Carrey but they have nothing to do with each other. Son of the Mask is just a bad movie. The idea for Son of the Mask would be much better as a one hour TV special. At first you will think the movie is going somewhere but at about 44 minutes into the movie all the jokes in the movie has have been used and you wondering when it will end.

White Noise is a movie that will leave you wondering what is going on and before your questions are answered the movie will end. I have yet to figure out what the shadowy figures are; yes they are literally shadowy figures. White Noise is suppose to be a horror movie but you will spend all your time trying to comprehend what is going on and who the people are you will not have time to be scarred. If you thought the Grudge was a bad horror movie, then be ready to be amazed by how bad they can really get.

   Entertainment: American Dad – Wow
Sunday, May 15, 2005 @ 10:59PM
Dear Seth MacFarlane:

I did not think it would be possible. It took you a few tries but you finally made an episode of American Dad that is funny. Before tonight I laughed at a couple of the jokes in the previous episodes because the jokes were so bad. However, during tonight’s episode, Francine's Flashback I was laughing because the jokes were actually funny. I congratulate you.

Sincerely
PervertedGeek

P.S. How did you ever think up the idea of having a German speaking fish go to an event called Burning Man? All I can say is Wow!

World News: Pop goes the iPod
Friday, May 13, 2005 @ 12:33AM
This is warning to everyone who is thinking about washing their iPod with their washing machine. In one word ‘don’t’ or you iPod might just explode like what happened to one Melbourne teenager. After his mother washed his iPod with a bunch of clothes the iPod was no longer working so the teenager tried to open the iPod to fix it. As he was opening the iPod it exploded (well popped).

World News: A Sea of Beer on the 401
Thursday, May 12, 2005 @ 12:30AM
On Wednesday a tractor trailer hauling beer collided with a small car causing it to tip over and poor its contents over the highway. This is without a doubt the biggest case of alcohol abuse I have ever read about. At least it was not good beer like Sam Adams.

   Entertainment: Here comes another Tuesday
Monday, May 9, 2005 @ 11:29PM
This week we have up In Good Company and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. For those of you in a hurry, In Good Company is good and The Life Aquatic is bad.

In Good Company stars Topher Grace who without his awkward pauses and delayed responses would make this an awful movie. Instead he turns a crummy movie into a watchable movie. I have not made up my mind as to whether Topher Grace is a good actor or just so bad he almost looks good in a comedy. If you are looking for a comedy based around a business you are much better off watching Office Space however if you are looking for a dumb company that takes place in an office then this is a movie you defiantly see but try to rent it or better yet barrower it because it is by no means good enough to buy.

Entertainment: DVDs are upon us again
Monday, May 2, 2005 @ 11:50PM
Once again, another Tuesday is upon us and more movies are coming to DVD. This week we have up National Treasure and Phantom of the Opera and neither of them sucked, now they were not on the level of Shaun of the Dead but they were still decent.

Phantom of the Opera is a good movie that while may not be as good as the play is still enjoyable. This is the prefect movie for couples to get. The girlfriend will like it and the boyfriend will not hate it. The music is good and in surround sound, brings life to the movie by pulling you into the action. The biggest complaint I have about this movie is their should have been more development of the phantom, by the end of the movie all you are feeling about him is that he does not get killed but you do not have any great attachment to him, if he were to die you would not feel any great loss. As far as romance kind of movies go Phantom of the Opera is about 1000x better than the Notebook and if you have not seen the play already 100x less predictable than the Notebook. ......

Common Sense: Finding Patterns and Using Logic
Saturday, April 30, 2005 @ 02:58AM
To make it through life you need to find and understand patterns. By finding patterns in your everyday life you can make you life and everyone else’s life easier and safer.

Let’s practice finding patterns with this simple example, you go to a store, there are twelve movies on the shelf, all of them the same movie, all of the same format lets say widescreen for the sake of it, eleven of them have one price and one of them is has a different price. Which one of these is not like the other and does not fit the pattern? That would be the one the one with the different price. Now by using some logic one should be able to conclude that the correct price for the movie would be the price that is on eleven of the twelve and the one movie with the different price is most likely incorrect. You could ask the cashier what the correct price of the movie but do not act surprised when they tell you the price is the one that is on all but one of the movies.

Let’s try another pattern. This time it is a little bit more important to see the pattern because it involves traffic circles. When you approach a traffic circle you are suppose to stop till the circle is clear for you to enter and during this time you should look around find a pattern and use some logic. The first pattern you should notice is every single car is moving in a counter-clockwise direction so by following this pattern which direction should you go to continue the pattern? If you said clockwise then you would be the asshole that almost hit half-dozen cars while you were going in the wrong direction. Even if you missed the pattern you should have been able to see the signs saying one-way and the paint lines going into the circle that are intended to clue you in that you should be going counter-clockwise.

Next time you are in a store or on the road try to find the patterns because it will make life easier for everyone else because they will not have to play dodge the asshole car or explain to you why the price of the movie is one price and not the other because you failed to see the pattern.

   Entertainment: Tuesday bringith more DVDs
Monday, April 25, 2005 @ 11:36PM
Another Tuesday is upon us and with that more movies are released on DVD.

This week PervertedGeek only saw one of the movies that are coming to DVD this week and that is “The Assassination of President Nixon” and to be blunt this movie is crap. This movie had nothing to do with President Nixon. The entire movie is about a guy who slowly goes crazy and kills people. None of the people he kills is Nixon, in fact he never at anytime within 100 miles of the President. When I started watching this movie I thought it might be about someone who tries to kill the President or at least try to assassinate his character. The movie was about neither. If you want to watch a pathetic guy who cannot talk right get upset over his own failings at life which then causes him to kill people in a plane he was trying to hijack before killing himself then go right ahead and watch this crappy movie.

A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither. --Thomas Jefferson
