    PervertedGeek Movie Review
Sunday, April 17, 2005 @ 08:53PM
Another week down and another Tuesday is approaching and with that is new movies released to DVD.

Meet the Fockers – As the name of the movie may imply the whole movie is nothing more than one long sex joke. Do not get me wrong I enjoyed Harold and Kumar go to White Castle but when a movie only has one sex joke and keeps reusing it over and over again, I cannot review the movie in a positive light. If you really enjoyed Meet the Parents then do not bother watching the sequel because it will ruin the first the movie for you. The movie starts out good and for the first 10 minutes I enjoyed the movie however as soon as I met the Fockers I just wanted the movie to hurry up and end. If you decide to watch this movie do yourself a favor and do not watch the extended version, this way the movie will not only end sooner but you also will avoid watching the extra scenes that do not belong in the movie. The extended version of Meet the Fockers includes many scenes that were not in the theatrical version because they do not belong in the movie, There should not be and extended version instead the scenes but the extended version should just be included in the deleted scenes reel.

Primer – Primer is about four guys who create a machine that can change the world forever. This movie is not intended for the largest audience possible due to the fact it actually makes you think. If you want a movie that will allow to kick back and relax this is not the movie for you but if you want a movie that will cause you think about time and space in a whole new way this is a must see movie. Primer will completely challenge you thinking about time paradoxes. This movie lacks any special affects or sudden movement and instead forces you to draw your complete attention to what you are watching, which while I know is a total departure from most of the movies created today is what makes this movie refreshing and enjoyable.

    Tuesday 4/12, DVD release day
Monday, April 11, 2005 @ 11:51PM
Tomorrow is Tuesday and with every Tuesday comes new movies to buy. PervertedGeek would like to take the time and review each movie however PervertedGeek does not have the time to write a review for each one and it is doubtful you would even read the entire review. Therefore, here are a few comments on each movie coming out on Tuesday that PervertedGeek has watched.

Hotel Rwanda – This movie is about how one guy tried to shelter people in his hotel during the Rwanda genocide in 1994. If you like to see how one guy can make a difference or how the UN is a bunch of worthless cowards then you will like this movie.

The Woodsman – This movie while only rated PG-13 is not to be seen by children or teenagers. This movie is very disturbing movie about a character named Walter who after being released from prison tries to start his life over however he is haunted by his awful past. To say this movie is disturbing would be putting it mildly. Kevin Bacon does an excellent job, one of his best performances.

Ocean’s Twelve – Unless you have seen Ocean’s Eleven you will not be able to follow the Ocean’s Twelve. It is assumed you know who everyone is and there is no character development. The movie skips and jumps around and when you think the movie is following one train of thought it starts to skip again. I had a hard time keeping track of what was going and on and since I did not see the first movie I had no idea who anyone was or how anything tied together.

Suspect Zero – This movie made no sense to me and I think the reason for this is brcause the entire time I was watching the movie I just wanted the damn thing to end. I tried following this movie and I had no idea what was going on. From what I could tell this movie was nothing more than an FBI agent has a troubles passed and now he must capture someone that was set free years earlier because of his mistake.

High prices joke of the Day
Wednesday, April 6, 2005 @ 10:43PM
My girlfriend asked me last night why I have not taken her to any expensive places recently so I said fine we'll have a night on the town and I will take you to one of the most expensive places in town.

I took her to the corner gas station.

Why must all movies be treated like real movies?
Monday, April 4, 2005 @ 11:21PM
I watch lots of movies every week. I no longer watch much TV; whenever I am home I have a DVD playing. Before I watch a movie and usually after I have already bought the movie I visit rottentomatoes.com to see what the critics though of the movie. After sometime I have concluded that when most critics watch a movie they always treat it and review it like a real movie. A large number of movies, most of them classified as comedies, are not real movies and should not be treated as such.

No one can tell me movies like Rocky and Bullwinkle, Evolution, Josie and the Pussy Cats, Ernest goes to Jail, Ernest in the Army, Mystery Men, Toys, High School High, Sugar and Spice, Zoolander and Fat Albert to name a few should be considered a real movie and therefore be held to the same level of standards as real movies such as Shawn of the Dead.     Google does it again
Friday, April 1, 2005 @ 02:21AM
Just when you think Google has done it all they come up with something completely new. It is good to see all the money they got from their IPO is not going to waste. And without further ado I bring you the Google gulp.

Damn you Walmart and your $5.50 DVDs.
Thursday, March 31, 2005 @ 11:05PM
I stopped by a local Walmart one day looking for cheap movies. Moreover, what do I see, none other than a Nickelback DVD containing 7 music videos on the disc (As a little side note I got the DVD for $5.50 and not the $6.87 price quoted online). Not just any seven music videos but the best songs Nickelback has made. The DVD is not like most CDs, you buy were you get one or two good songs and the rest is crap. I broke down and bought the DVD. I feel dirty now. I vowed never to buy anything that would support the RIAA and here I have gone and bought something that is associated with the RIAA.

My only hope that in order for Walmart to sell the DVD at the $5.50 price they had to screw the RIAA so one bad organization was screwing another. Damn you RIAA, damn you Walmart. I have just lost a little piece of my soul.

Warning - Avoid the movie Sideways
Thursday, March 31, 2005 @ 10:38PM
I have seen many movies in my life, these include Legally Blonde 2, Raise your voice, Josie and the Pussy Cats, the Notebook and dare I say it Napoleon Dynamite. I managed to watch all of those movies to the end however I could not bring myself to watch all of Sideways. The entire movie (or at least what I managed to through) was nothing more than two guys complaining more than I do and that is hard to do. One of the main purposes for Pervertedgeek is so I can bitch moan about things such what I am doing right now. About halfway through the movie I found myself surfing the web and more entertained by this than the movie.

This movie was supposed to have nudity but I could not even bear to continue watching this movie for the 10 seconds of nudity. Maybe if the movie had constant nudity and mean real nudity not man ass (ala Troy) then maybe I would have continued watching Sideways.

If you like slow movies about two guys complaining about their life then go ahead and watch the movie but if you like good movies then avoid this movie and if you really must watch a movie about guys complaining about their lives then go watch City Slickers at least in that movie they tried to make a point and have --- what’s the word --- I remember now – a plot.
