World News: Inclement weather driving | Tuesday, October 19, 2004 @ 11:23PMAs the temperatures lower and rain becomes snow it is important to be careful while driving however there are times when drivers begin to freak out because of a little snow or rain which results in traffic being ground to a halt. The following tips are to help drivers know when to use precaution and when not as rain and snow falls to the ground. • When it begins to rain or snow heavily, turn on your damn headlights you dumbass! Headlights not only allow you to see me but also make it easier for me to avoid smashing into the back of your car. However this does not mean you should turn or your highbeems. • Keep in mind that wet brakes are not nearly as effective as dry brakes, and as such pulling out in front of me and forcing me to hit the brakes hard when I'm going 55 is even less intelligent than usual. • Be able to identify and compensate for various types on inclement weather. Despite what you believe five drops of rain on your windshield does not constitute a rainstorm. There is no need to slow down to 50mph in a 65mph zone. • If you have a four-wheel drive SUV does not mean you rule the road. During rain and snow storms it is still possible to loose control of your SUV. Having a four-wheel drive SUV does not make you indestructible.
